Facebook and Instagram have become two of the most popular and effective channels for brands to engage with customers, and increase their brand awareness online. Managing any social media channel can be a hectic job, especially when the volume of engagement is high and you’re working across multiple platforms.
If you are using Facebook and Instagram to connect with your customer, but struggling to stay on top of interactions and replies, the Facebook inbox could be the solution you’ve been looking for.
What does the Facebook inbox do?
The Facebook inbox allows you to manage your Instagram, Facebook and Facebook Messenger comments and messages in one central location. It ensures you aren’t duplicating communication with customers across multiple channels, and allows you to use its instant chat feature to communicate with customers.
Where is the Facebook inbox?
You can find the inbox on both mobile and desktop, which makes interaction with customers convenient across devices, and increases flexibility to engage with customers, whether you’re in the office or remote working.
You can download the Messenger app to your mobile, or if you’re working on a desktop, you’ll see the inbox tab on the top bar of your company Facebook page. If you’re on your Facebook page on a mobile, you’ll see the inbox icon located at the bottom of your screen.
How do I use my Facebook inbox?
To get started managing your Instagram and Facebook from the Facebook inbox, you’ll first need to link your two accounts. You need to make sure your Instagram is set up as a business account and that you’ve connected it to your Facebook page. Once you have done this, open up the Facebook inbox and you’ll be given an option to read and reply to Instagram comments.
Once you’ve connected these accounts, you’ll be able to see all your Instagram comments and notifications in your inbox. If you click the ‘all’ tab, every notification from both platforms will be listed, separated by the relevant social media channel logo.
Tapping on the Instagram logo at the top of the page will take you to only Instagram-related notifications. Tapping on each comment will open the thread of conversation, including any comments you’ve made in response to your customers.
To reply to a user in the inbox, you either need to type out the person’s username or slide a comment left to find the Reply button on the right. Similarly, you can swipe left to find the delete option, if you want to remove any comments from the thread.
One of the benefits of using the Facebook inbox to respond to Instagram comments is that you’re able to efficiently manage all interaction with customers without having to hop between the two platforms.
Another benefit is that if you have multiple people responsible for managing your channel, you can streamline communication into one central platform.
This allows everyone with access to your channel to see when they have responded to a customer, keeping the process as efficient and effective as possible.
